“I’ve never seen so much work in all the years, especially the last ten.” That’s the reality on the ground for Gene Kelley, General Manager of Coastal Marine Construction LLC.

Offshore wind has ramped up across Massachusetts over the last few years, and majority of that activity is taking place right here in New Bedford. In just the past two years, Coastal Marine has been involved in seven major builds, including dredging and pier construction. According to Gene, “business is booming!” and in recent years, it’s due to offshore wind construction activities.

“The challenge isn’t finding the work. It’s figuring out how to get it all done!” But that’s what drives Gene and the team at Coastal Marine forward.
