Wind is Working for Local Women
The Vineyard Wind 1 Project has connected a diverse range of businesses and residents of Southeastern Massachusetts communities to job opportunities created by the project. In the first two years of construction, 937 union workers worked on the project and 72% were from Southeastern Massachusetts.
This Women’s History Month, we’re excited to introduce you to Vicki Chapman of Chapman Construction Group, a woman- and veteran-owned full service electrical construction company that delivers comprehensive electrical services for facilities and projects throughout Massachusetts. Chapman is supporting construction operations associated with the completion of offshore construction, installation, and commissioning of the Vineyard Wind 1 project’s electrical service platform (ESP).
Chapman Construction is just another exciting example of how offshore wind is powering jobs and new career opportunities for our local communities.
